【摘要】:Thistestmethodrequirestotalhydrolysisofcarbohydratematerialtomonosaccharides,andisthusapplicabletoanycellulosicorrelatedmaterialthatundergoessubstantialhydrolysis,includingcellulosederivativessuchascelluloseacetate.Thecarbohydratecompositionofacellulosicmaterialcanbeexpressedonthebasisofthetotalinitialsample,oronthebasisofthecarbohydrateportionofthesample.Theformerrequiresquantitativehandlingandmayrequirespecialknowledgeoftheothercomponentspresentinordertoestablishtheabsolutecarbohydratelevelordetermineindividualwoodhemicellulosessuchasgalactoglucomannan,etc.Sincethesolidportionofpurifiedpulpsisalmostallcarbohydrate(98+%),thelatterbasisisoftenusedtoexpressthecarbohydratedistributionasapercent.Ifheatedunderalkalineconditions,isomericsugarsmaybegintoappearinthechromatogram.Themajorimpuritypresentinpurifiedpulpsissaccharinicacids.Theseacidiccomponents,andotheranionssuchassulfate,carbonate,andacetateareremovedbyastrongbaseanionexchangeSPE,andwouldneedtobedeterminedseparatelytogetamoreexactcarbohydratedistribution.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecarbohydratecompositionofcellulosicmaterialssuchasgroundwoodmeal,chemicallyrefinedpulp,mechanicalpulps,brownstocks,andplantexudates(gums)byionchromatography.Thistestmethodissuitableforrapid,routinetestingoflargenumbersofsampleswithhighaccuracyandprecision.Forareviewofthistechnique,seeLee(1).1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forhazardstatement,seeSection8.
