【摘要】:Theintentofthisguideistoidentifythegeneralperformanceandgoodpracticestandardsthatapelvicringcircumferentialcompressionstabilizationdevice(PRCCSD)shouldpossess.Currently,anumberofbaseplatformssuchasfull-bodyspinalimmobilizationdevices(longboards)areusedtoimmobilizepatientsduringtransportandbeforedefinitivetreatment.Theseplatformslimitgrossmovementsofthespineandpelvisbutdonotspecificallyreduceandstabilizedisruptionsofthepelvicring.ThePRCCSDappliedcircumferentiallyaboutthepatientexertsacompressiveforcetoreduceandstabilizedisruptionsofthepelvicring.ThePRCCSDmaybeusedalonebut,accordingtoclinicalsituations,willcommonlybeusedinconjunctionwithdifferentsupportingbaseplatformsduringtransportandbeforedefinitivetreatment.ThePRCCSD,whencircumferentiallyapplied,shouldbecenteredatthelevelofthegreatertrochantersandsymphsispubis.3Adeviceintendedforusewithadultpatientsshallaccommodatethe95thpercentileadultAmericanmale.2Thedeviceshouldbeabletobeappliedbyasinglepractitioner.1.1Thisguideestablishesminimumstandardsfordevicesdesignatedhereaspelvicringcircumferentialcompressionstabilizationdevices(s)(PRCCSD),commonlyknownaspelvicslings,belts,orbinders.ThePRCCSDisusedastheinitialpelvicringstabilizationdeviceonpatientssuspectedofhavingsustainedtraumaticdisruptionsofthepelvicring.Itisusedduringpatienttransportbyemergencypersonnelandbeforedefinitivetreatment.1.2Thisguideaddressestherecognizedneedtoreduceandstabilizepelvicringdisruptionsthroughtheuseofcircumferentialcompressiondevices.1.3Peer-reviewedmedicalliteraturedoesdescribespecifictestingmethodsusedtodeterminetherangeofeffectivecompressionforce,efficacyinreduction,stability,andsafetyforaparticular(PRCCSD).Thisguide,however,doesnotidentifyspecifictestingmethodsasitisrecognizedsuchmethodscouldvaryaccordingtodeviceconfigurationandstudydesign.1.4Thisguidedoesnotaddressindividualquantitativeperformancestandardsforanyparticulardevice,butdoesaddressgeneralperformancestandardsandgoodpracticecharacteristicsforalldevicesusingcircumferentialcompressiontoreduceandstabilizedisruptionsofthepelvicring.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
