【摘要】:ThisSAERecommendedPracticeisapplicabletoalllight-dutygasolineanddieselpassengervehiclesandtrucks,andtoheavy-dutygasolinevehicles.Specificapplicationsofthisdocumentincludediagnostic,serviceandrepairmanuals,bulletinsandupdates,trainingmanuals,repairdatabases,underhoodemissionlabels,andemissioncertificationapplications.Thisdocumentfocusesondiagnostictermsapplicabletoelectrical/electronicsystems,andthereforealsocontainsrelatedmechanicalterms,definitions,abbreviations,andacronyms.Eventhoughtheuseandappropriateupdatingofthisdocumentisstronglyencouraged,nothinginthisdocumentshouldbeconstruedasprohibitingtheintroductionofaterm,abbreviationoracronymnotcoveredbythisdocument.Certaintermshavealreadybeenincommonuseandarereadilyunderstoodbymanufacturersandtechnicians,butdonotfollowthemethodologyofthisdocument.Topreservethisunderstanding,thesetermswereincludedandhavebeenidentifiedwiththefootnote,historicallyacceptablecommonusage,sotheywillnoterroneouslyserveasaprecedentintheconstructionofnewnames.Thesetermsfallintothreecategories:a.acronymsthatdonotlogicallyfittheterm;b.acronymsexistingatthecomponentlevel,i.e.,theirtermscontainthebasewordornounthatdescribesthegenericitemthatisbeingfurtherdefined.;andc.acronymsfortermsthatappeartocontainthebaseword,butarefrequentlyusedasamodifiertoanotherbaseword.(Thisusemaypossiblybethoughtofasfollowingthemethodologysincetheacronymisnormallyusedasamodifier).)
