【摘要】:ThestandardsunderthejurisdictionofCommitteeF23andothertechnicalcommitteescanbeusedindividuallyoraspartofanintegratedprotocolinthedevelopment,selection,specification,anduseofchemicalprotectiveclothing.Thestandardsareintendedasameansbywhichinformationcanberequested,generated,andreportedinaconsistent,comparablemanner.Thesuggestedevaluationandtestmethodsarerecommendedguidelinesonly.Testmethodsofferproceduresforevaluatingchemicalprotectiveclothingatstandardizedconditionstoallowcomparison.Theinformationonclothingperformancemustbecombinedwithprofessionaljudgment,andaclearunderstandingoftheclothingapplication,toprovidethebestprotectiontotheworker.Allchemicalprotectiveclothingusemustbebasedonahazardassessmenttodeterminetherisksforexposuretochemicalsandotherhazards.Conducthazardassessmentsinaccordancewith29CFR1910.132.ChemicalprotectiveclothingintendedforuseduringhazardousmaterialsemergenciesshallbeevaluatedagainstandconformtoNFPA1991,StandardonVapor-ProtectiveEnsembleforHazardousMaterialsEmergencies,orNFPA1992,StandardonLiquidSplash-ProtectiveEnsembleandClothingforHazardousMaterialsEmergencies,asappropriateforthetypeofemergency.Foremergenciesinvolvingreleaseofchemicalagentsduringterrorismincidents,chemicalprotectiveclothingshallbeevaluatedagainstandconformtoNFPA1994,StandardonProtectiveEnsembleforChemical/BiologicalTerrorismIncidents.RecommendationsforlabelingchemicalprotectiveclothingareprovidedinPracticeF1301,recommendationsforimplementingachemicalprotectiveclothingprogramareprovidedinPracticeF1461,andrecommendationsforpreparingcareandmaintenanceinstructionsareprovidedinPracticeF2061.AppendixX1isanexampleofhowseveralofthereferencedstandardscanbecombinedintoaprotocoltoselectthemostsuitablechemicalprotectiveclothingforagivenapplication.Briefly,theprocessisoneofdefiningtherequirementsoftheapplicationandthen(bytesting)eliminatingthosecandidatesthatareunsuitable.AppendixX2providesacharttocrossreferenceU.S.StandardswithEuropeanandInternationalStandards.Thischartshowsonlyanalogousstandardsformeasuringthesamepropertyorevaluatingthesimilarchemicalprotectiveclothinganddoesnotimplythatresultsfromdifferenttestswillbecomparable.1.1Thisguideisintendedtoaidintheapplicationofstandardsforthedevelopment,specification,andselectionofchemicalprotectiveclothingwiththeultimategoalofmaintainingthesafetyandhealthofworkerswhocomeintocontactwithhazardouschemicals.1.2Thisguideprovidesashortdescriptionofeachreferencedstandardandthenmakesspecificrecommendationsfortheuseofthesestandards.Thereferencedstandardsareorganizedunderthefollowingheadings:MaterialChemicalResistance,MaterialPhysicalProperties,SeamandClosurePerformance,andOverallClothingPerformance.1.3Noprotocolcanensuretheselectionofprotectiveclothingthatguaranteesworkerprotection.Thepurposeoftestingistogeneratedataandinformationthatwillallowtheselectionofthemostappropriateclothing.Ultimately,clothingselectionisbasedontechnicalevaluationofavailableinformationandprofessionalassessmentofrisk.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsorinotherunitsshallberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.......
